Modding Guidelines
If you’re building mods for Delivery & Beyond, you need to follow these rules.
1. Don't Steal Assets
- Originality: If it isn't yours, you need a license (like Creative Commons) or written permission from the creator.
- Credit where it’s due: You have to credit the original authors and link to the source or license.
- No Trademarks: Don't use characters, logos, or branding from other games or movies.
2. Money & Donations
- Donations are fine: You can link to your Ko-fi, Patreon, or PayPal in the mod's description.
- No Paywalls: You cannot charge money for the mod itself or lock features/skins behind a price tag.
- No Crypto/NFTs: I don't allow anything involving blockchain, NFTs, or crypto.
3. Ownership & Game Integration
- No Game Theft or Resale: You are not allowed to remake, resell, steal, or republish the game code or the game itself as your own.
- No Payment for Ideas: If something similar to your mod is implemented, you cannot demand payment, royalties, or compensation.
4. Patcher & Loader Integrity
- No Modifying the Loader: You are not allowed to modify, redistribute or override the
delivery_beyond.mod_loader.dll. - Report Issues: If you find a bug or have a problem with the loader, please open an issue on the official channels rather than trying to patch it yourself. This ensures compatibility for everyone.
5. Keep Code Readable
- No Obfuscation: Don't use tools to scramble or hide your code. It needs to be somewhat human-readable (for security reasons)
6. Malicious Content
- Malware: If your mod has viruses, keyloggers, or scrapes user data, you’ll be banned immediately and reported to steam.
7. Steam Rules
- You have to also follow the Steam Subscriber Agreement.
